Life in Blue Jeans is my personal blog. You want to know how I do business and what makes this adventurous and fun life possible? Check out my "day job" web site and blog at Business in Blue Jeans. But here, I'll keep things strictly personal. (And btw, click here to read the first post I wrote in this blog)
Why a blog? Well, first and foremost, I'm a writer, always have been, even when I didn't realize it. And a blog gives me the creative outlet to put my thoughts and perceptions of the world around me onto the "page," as it were.
I've spent the last 6 or so years writing mostly about business. I've missed writing about fun stuff. I've missed writing about whatever I want. I'm a regular contributor to several online blogs and outlets, and those writing gigs necessitate that I write on specific, business-related subject matter. I love writing about business, no doubt about it.
And here's the second thing: I'm also a teacher, and always have been. And while I absolutely love writing and teaching about small business and entrepreneurship, my husband and I have created a life that's varied and fun - and I happen to know a lot about some things and a little about a lot more things. I think our life is somewhat unique and at least a little bit interesting to read about.
So at Life in Blue Jeans, you'll find me posting on hobbies, crafts, sports, restaurants, travel, books I've read and loved and books I hated, movies, TV shows, cooking and recipes, magazines, meditation, online shopping, kid stuff that works with my stepkids and niece and nephew, urban homesteading, heck, pretty much anything that shows up in my daily life.
